What Purrse stores
- Your account details: email address, display name, and sign-in method.
- The budgeting records you enter: pay periods and their amounts, planned bills and expenses, debts and their rates and balances, savings goals, and any notes you add.
- Coaching history: the questions you ask Purrfessor, the replies, and any proposed budget edits together with whether you applied or undid them.
- Optional features you switch on, such as financial literacy quiz answers, features you vote on, and wins you choose to share to the community feed.
Who can see it
- Only you. Every record type in Purrse is scoped to the account that created it, so another signed-in person cannot read, edit, or delete your balances, debts, or coaching history.
- Community wins are anonymous by design: the headline is written by the server from your event and never includes your name, an account name, or an amount.
- Purrse does not sell, rent, or share your financial records with advertisers.
Bank connections
- Connecting a bank account is optional and stays off until you turn it on. When connected, balances and account names are read through Plaid and stored against your account.
- Your bank access token is kept server-side: no browser session, including your own, can read it back out of the app.
- The app also runs a sandbox mode for testing a connection end to end without touching a real bank.
Automated processing
- Purrfessor, document analysis, and workbook import send the relevant figures or file to an AI model provider so a reply can be generated. Only what is needed to answer is sent, and the result comes back to your account.
- Documents you upload are stored privately and opened through short-lived links created by the app's server, never through a URL the browser chooses.
Your controls
- Settings includes data controls to export your records and to delete your budgeting data.
- Signing out ends the session on that device. You can request removal of your whole account from the feedback page or by contacting support.
Retention and security
- Records stay until you delete them. Access rules are enforced on the server for every read and write, not just hidden in the interface.
- No online service can promise perfect security. If you believe something is wrong with your account, reach out through the feedback page and describe what you saw.
